Hi Mariel! You need to have high grades in the subjects that you’ll be taking during your first year in college. The GE’s you’ll be having will be relatively easy compared to the majors so you have to make sure that you’ll have high grades in your major subjects so as to not drag your GWA (general weighted average) down. I used to be a BS Biology student and I honestly had a hard time transferring because I only had passing and satisfactory grades in most of my majors.

If you plan to transfer to BS Biology in UP Manila, you need to have a general weighted average of at least 2.00 by the end of the academic year. Other courses require a lower GWA but others require higher such as in College of Pharmacy and Public Health. I’m not sure with the courses in UPD though but in BS Geology you only need to have a general weighted average of at least 2.75 by the end of the academic year. In my course Dentistry, you need to have at least a GWA of 2.5 by the end of the academic year.
